Few Facts:

1. We are alive and innumerable possibilities lie around us. We choose to become and that establishes our reality.

2. We have to manage the work life balance always, so no excuses in trying something wild.

3. I have an idea. I have another idea. I have yet another idea. What’s wrong? Is implementation a problem? Is it the only problem or probably we have crossed our so called, out of bounds realm. Implying that, we are restricting ourselves. Just, please do not restrict yourself.

4. Well, not now, may be later, some ‘appropriate’ time? And what’s that appropriate time, Mr. Time traveler? Not now.... Hmmm...

5. Be original guys; find a business cavity or for that sake if you’ve got enough passion create a business cavity; it happens in this very place you live.

Social networking site is a good idea, let’s copy paste...
all right, and kill creativity. For God’s sake, Facebook was not a copy paste template and it didn’t just grow in a day.

6. RISK!
A simple example:
Case 1: You are travelling upstream in a river,
Case 2: You are flowing downstream,
first choose whether you wish to travel upstream in your life or flow downstream, secondly choose what’s more risky. It is worth the risk (until of course you wish to jump over the Niagara Falls from deep down & in one leap).

What do we conclude (The Verity)?

Raj: “I’m, moving to another place?”

Rekha: “But (thinks “But, I need you right now...”)?”

Raj: “But what? It’s very difficult to keep our families in dark, we need to stay separately.”

Rekha: “Please Raj, it’s not a good decision...”

Rekha told me about their long distance relationship that lasted for a month. They separated after Rekha had had an abortion and came back together in a month; they were just 21 and 23 and not on the peak of their careers or life. Rekha told me that Raj was not totally wrong, although it was hard for me to understand how a man can leave a girl like that. But, she explained me that there are situations in life when we fall in some sort of desperate depressions and restrict to share our thoughts so much so that the lack of the second opinions freeze the right approach or thinking about life. I was happy about the news of their marriage and let me be honest, she was a very good girl and I would have loved to be with her, especially when she was left alone by Raj. That guy is some confused creature and ‘I’ am not, as if? My mind started wandering to the thought of being judgmental.

Rekha further told me that when she shared the same with her best friend, she asked her never to speak to Raj ever, typical bloody girlish. I’ve personally been of the opinion that the girlfriends’ best friends’ opinions are the worst thing that can happen to any guy. Anyways, Rekha was herself broke so she didn’t know what was right either. She kept her patience and Raj came back in a month. He has loved her even more after that.

Her sister had been of the opinion that if actually Raj is like that, it was good that she realized it much before any final decisions; I mean, what could be more than an abortion. Anyways, realizations can happen anytime. So be it, I thought they were quite happy together and opinions of different people including mine just vanished in thin air while what happened was eventually good.

Well, to me, concluding whether Raj was good or Rekha was bad or vice versa was difficult considering I had heard just a part of the incident and that too from just one person involved in the story. I’m of the opinion that we never know what situations might be for some other person and it is insane to even imagine that we know what situation the other person might be in.

Judgment has infinite possibilities, we need to understand our own situation eventually and be patient if we think we have lost control of the situations at hand because it’s never too late till we believe it is and faith is not just a word, neither is will power. Destiny is what we make of it, situations are what we create and then manage. Action (controlled by you) and reaction (unforeseen) are but obvious, because action is what it is all about, mark it.

Being a good listener is another art and being a good judge is another quality. Mostly people fall to give advice too often and fail in having the clear idea of the situation the other person might be in and surprisingly, that is actually impossible.

It’s always good to refer to history and thus a couple of famous quotes to support the above thoughts are a great idea:

I was attending a physics lecture when my teacher said, "ab koi gadha hi hoga jisko ye topic nahi samajh me aayi hogi..." ;) a rather assertive remark so that no one asks or cross questions on that topic; never the less, I make sure that my sessions go along with great participation from everyone and questions are very much welcomed.

This story teaches two lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging
word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it
through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes
to kill them.

Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your
path. The power of words... it is sometimes hard to understand
that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak
words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in
difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time
to encourage another.

The ratio of terrorist groups to the rest of the world is like 3:97 if I may say so. We have killed Osama is what Obama says and the rest of the world believes the terrorists must be terrified now. Is it???

Killing in turn of killing and we think the problem is solved… I’m addressing the people in general here and not to Obama or the army that was involved in killing Osama or capturing Saddam Hussain.

We will read all this for a few days, Google it for some time, see it in the news for a few more days and talk about it in disgust on some random days. Result? Nothing…

Senators in their reign have achieved several milestones; this one’s for you ‘Obama’ is the cry out there. But senators’ change and people live and die, what remains is the immortality of the good and the bad.

The good has a long lasting impact while the bad eventually has an end always. History supports the fact. Also, we are living up to the fact that the good eventually wins over the bad.

Be it the the Jan Lokpal Bill, be it the 1991 economic reforms, be it the mythological wins of good over bad; I believe in this belief that the good always wins over the bad and if not anyone else, I will at least make it happen in my life.
Up to you now, what choices you make…?

Terrorism will not die by death of few devils that run this industry. It’s one of us who are making a difference already and we need to support to their cause. The next time we need to go to the India Gate for some peaceful protest to support some genuine cause and you are not able to, at least spread the message. Do your bit…

These are a few of the habits that people want to quit or they wish they didn’t have. Read this carefully: emotions, smoking or any other habit or activity is a form of expulsion of energy. This means that the habits we wish to quit are the ones in which negative energy is involved while the ones that lead us towards social welfare or chasing our passions / dreams or giving love are POSITIVE ENERGIES. For e.g. if we are so focused in being angry or procrastinating or so eager about smoking, can it not be the case that we can divert the same focus in positive things to get the maximum goodness out of our life.

As you can see again that the consequences of stress are also helpful in terms of increasing your focus;

you can make a choice to either “fight or flee”. Fleeing away would be running away from situations and acting like a coward while fighting with the right temperament can lead to better outcomes of stressful situations.

Do you choose to be a Terrorist?

Sshhh... I slowly kill the innocent and destroy everything that comes in my way like property, humans, anything and everything; I was actually destined to do this, I was born with a special power of reverse sentiments, I think killing solves the problem and the problem that is solved is, is... that I prove my name; I create terror in people’s minds; That’s what is understood.. Isn’t it...???

So many people cry because of me, because even my people had cried; Ah, my people are, are, I mean, must have been in big troubles, that’s why my Minister asks me to kill some in return of returning their peace; Sometimes I think it would have been better if someone would have recited on their dead bodies, “May your soul rest in peace...”, a lot of killing might have been avoided;) he says that he will solve our purpose of being born, he teaches us from day one and we become likewise (people become what they are trained to become);

He talks of his wishes of ruling the planet, he says this land is his...; he owns a lot I believe; He dreams of the power of doing all that he wants, but I’ve seen that he wants only killing and by killing so many only he would be left on this land;

I see that a lot of people fight for land, maybe that’s why he wants to own it all ;)

There are people who differentiate themselves by religion; Hell with it, they all die in the end and their religion becomes common; they blame and keep on blaming, they fight and are never tired by fighting, they speak bold and loud, but are not afraid by speaking, they also kill other people’s consciousness by provoking them in the wrong sense, they are equally fetish about the most trifle issues in life just like my Minister who motivates me to do what I do (create terror in people’s minds)...

I believe I’m living in the same world as others and others are same like all others; so what it proves is that my killing is just a part of this eco system; I’ve two recent projects in hand, one case is of some land in a part of India, they call it Ayodhya and then there is this place Delhi where they have invited the world for games...

But what about these Ministers, they say I kill innocent people, but they kill their consciousness; anyways... It hardly matters to me, I’m killing full on today; may be just like others with every shot I fire I kill my consciousness even more, after all my Minister has trained me for it; I believe I’m not the only terrorist; Even I have to survive in a red ocean of different types of terrorists; we have different names BUT same purpose...

Me: What is this DNA stuff in your age old motivational kick bag that comes back equally badly, i.e. with whatever intensity you read it, it helps even more?

Chris: Of course by now we are all becoming aware of DNA. It is the source code that determines who we are. When we look at DNA we can see what a person will look like, what diseases they may come down with, etc. This has been a tremendous breakthrough for scientists and will continue to be so for some time, I think. This got me to thinking about what makes up those who are top achievers. Is there a “DNA” to them? Obviously, all top achievers wouldn’t have the same literal DNA but what about a figurative DNA? Is there a common “gene” that they all have? Are there common “genes” perhaps? I think so!

If we could get right down to it, I think these are the genes we would find in the DNA of top achievers: A predisposition to setting high, lofty goals. Top achievers are people who won’t and can’t settle for the status quo. They see average as a place they want to keep in the rear-view mirror. Instead, they continually look for ways to stretch themselves, to get better, to do better, to be better! They set their sights on goals that others have never even thought of. They want to shoot so high that even if they miss, they go higher than everyone else. This is what makes them top achievers.

Me: O.K. Top achievers, but what are the traits to be one.

Chris (Looks firmly on me): An ability to focus intently upon reaching their desired destination.

Many people can set high goals, but just as many people get sidetracked by one thing or another on their way to those goals. High, lofty goals usually take a while to get there so there will always be plenty of time to be tempted to stray away from the road that is taking you to those goals. Often, those things that sidetrack people are good things, but not the best things. Top achievers do not get sidetracked. They stay focused. They know where they are going. They have an ability to say “no” to the good things in order to get to the best things.

Me: Saying NO is indeed very tough. What about if people lose hopes? What works then?

Chris: The willingness to personally sacrifice in order to get to their goal.

When the going gets tough, many people quit. When the going get tough personally most people quit. When the going gets tough for top achievers, they remind themselves of the high. lofty goals they have set for themselves. They remind themselves of what an accomplishment it will be for them and that the reward is worth pushing through the momentary trials. They are willing to sacrifice personally in the short-term in order to get the reward and the prize long-term. Keeping their eyes on the big picture enables them to persevere through any personal pain they may experience.

Me: What is the fuel that drives us all?

Chris (giggles): A predisposition to tenacity. Tenacity is the ability to “keep on going.”

Tough times? Keep on going! Financial troubles? Keep on going! People are suspect? Keep on going! You look like a dreamer? Keep on going! Tired? Keep on going! Want to quit and take it easy? Keep on going! Just remember this: Keep on going! The prize is ahead! Many people quit just before they were to get the reward, so keep on going!

Me: Whoa!!! I’m already too motivated, but what’s the use of IQ and general logic all the while.

Chris: The ability to see available resources and to use them accordingly.

Those who are top achievers know that they cannot be lone-rangers on the way to the top. No one makes it by himself or herself. Top achievers recognize their weaknesses – the weaknesses that if they don’t cover will keep them from becoming a top achiever! They see their resources and they work to get them into a helping position so they can continue the route to becoming a top achiever. And they don’t use them, they utilize them. There is a big difference! People, finances, etc are all brought in to help by the top achiever.

Me: To sum it all, what is the other integral trait?

Chris: A desire to help others achieve more for themselves as well.

The top achiever knows that they can make a difference for others by becoming a top achiever. They know that the wealth they make can feed the hungry. They know that the position of influence they achieve can open a door for someone who may not normally get a chance. True top achievers look at how they can bring many with them, not how they can leave many in the dust. People are helped by the top achiever, not trampled upon!

I think if we could get to the DNA of top achievers, the things we talked about above would be at the core and fiber of their beings. What about you? Did you recognize yourself at all? I hope so! The good news about the DNA we are talking about today as opposed to real DNA is that you can go out and work on top achiever DNA whereas you are stuck with real DNA. So if you lack a little in the above-mentioned areas, take heart – you can get better and work on them so that you can become a top achiever!

These lines even make me wanna smoke even though I hate smoking; I can well imagine the psychology of people who are addicted to cigarettes...

Now, The Deeper Concept: Why anyone smokes, pulls me deep down to the grass root level of everyday problems / negative addictions in our life that are some or the other way linked; and they make us do things that we aren’t supposed to, despite knowing their ill effects.

Some common willingly committed mistakes:

1. Wake up late – I will get on time tomorrow/from this Monday / from ...

2. Non punctual – Next meeting I’ll surely be on time / I’ll never get late

3. Fat – I’ll start running from tomorrow onwards / I’ll join gym / I’ll give up junk food / etc.

4. Smoking – pointless to point out, and so on...

I believe it’s not just this very smoke or this burger or this meeting or this morning; It has a much much more deeper connection with our each and every thought and action; now take this: All our negative addictions connect to us biologically, like people feel incomplete without it at times and sometimes even their morning biodegradable waste is scrapped only if they use a cigarette, it’s more of a psychological and biological connection, so how to give that up???

Simple, switch to better habits... Or May be some extinct smoke quitters can suggest better...

We are what we are, because of all that we’ve done, and thus we have faced what we’ve been through; indeed, we have become what we have become.

The smallest things that we do are stored in our subconscious mind and because of that we react in certain ways in different situations. What we often call destiny is a mere consequence of the smallest acts we’ve done in our life. Luck, on the contrary, as the dictionary says is “Your overall circumstances or condition in life (including everything that happens to you)”, yet again a synonym of destiny.

I want to emphasize the value of each and every thing that we do in our lives; I’m not an economist or a mathematician so I could practically or mathematically explain you the time value of money, but what I’m talking of here is totally different & totally what we are living, i.e. LIFE.

Success, money and happiness are totally what will keep us engrossed all our lives. I’ll briefly tell you what I mean:

Mother Teresa must have been a contended woman, and I consider her even successful in some or the other way through her contributions, maybe she was even a happy person. Bill Gates is a successful person and a person of comparatively much more money/wealth compared with many. Well, I’m sure a lot of us dream for the, “and they lived happily ever after”, situation; I crave for it too....

So, I feel that our lives will keep on revolving around the three factors, i.e. success, money and happiness. I want to make a better you and a better me, thus a better world. Thanks for bearing my philosophies all the while and keep reading more if this is not enough.

This will change your life (journey from before to after)

It doesn't matter what you take from here, what actually matters is what you contribute; because once you’re gone for good, what would remain is just your contributions, neither your achievements, nor you.

I was thinking of the above from many days, but just wasn’t able to put it down in words; and yet again after many days of busy official schedules I’ve sneaked to share an honest, intriguing and thought provoking statement. “It doesn’t matter what you take from here, what actually matters is what you contribute,”...

I’m sure, if for a second, you repeat the statement in your mind, it would make so much sense... I mean, although it is so subtle and brief but at the same time it is so true, that it would make you do or at least think of something that would add more value to your life.

Ask yourself these questions:

1. If I had very less time to achieve all that I wanted to, in life, how would I do all that in that time frame? Is it not that the time frame I’m talking about is different now, and now and now...?

2. Is it that hard to believe that once we all have to go for good to where we won’t come back from; then what would you do?

Preaching your kid / younger ones is not an achievement, but then why do we feel so good in doing the same...

Human nature is indeed a complicated thing, we do what we do and we always knew what was right,

THIS IS RIGHT, “It doesn't matter what you take from here, what actually matters is what you contribute; because once you’re gone for good, what would remain is just your contributions, neither your achievements, nor you.”

History says: Falling & Failing are but natural

I’ve really had some hard time in life, and so does everyone; after all what’s life and success without struggle… I get from a very few people, a “good work” & “keep it up”, i.e. at rarest times, but the most important thing is to motivate people, make them think just once so that they might refrain themselves from committing any mistake or probably make them do some good and spread the same notion everywhere. This is what makes me feel good.

Success and happiness are juxtaposed in our lives. Well, successful people can be broadly classified in two categories:

Double Intelligent: People who learn from other people’s mistakes or history of past experiences and act correctly in one shot.
Intelligent: People who learn from their own mistakes and act correctly the next time onwards.

Now, Intelligent are the ones who are the mentor types. They are the people who commit mistake, taste it and its ugliness forces them not to commit it again while spreading the experience makes them spread wisdom that brings a “feel good” factor and a complimentary title of mentor.

Just to support my thought, I’d add the following inspirational real life examples:

Falling and failing are but natural, it's just that we need not give up and instead we should rebound on our feet to start things again, may be from the beginning or may be from where we left it...

Office Politics - Don't fall prey to it, out think it...

We need to understand and make everyone understand that interest of the employer is eventually the interest of both the employer and the employee…*

There are basically three types of employees because of whom the term “Office Politics” is coined (I realized the first two points in the first week of my first job: I've always out thought Office Politics since then...):

Employees who want to take all the credit and avoid all the blames: They are the polished types, they know the all and sundry of politics although insecurity drives them for playing safe and not exactly blaming anyone.
Employees who want to take all the credit and blame anyone or everyone else for that sake: These people are the confident or rather fearless and polished ones, who are mostly backed by their respective seniors or the boss of the boss for some or the other reasons.
Employees who want to do everything by their own self: They are the ones again driven by insecurity or fear that either some one else would make some mistake in their work or they will progress more if they do everything on their own. Also, lack of delegation of responsibility is a good reason for this.

Major causes of above behaviors are:

Insecurity of Employees:It is very natural of humans to be insecure, but such a tendency can hamper the growth of any organization on a whole.
Unprofessional Organization: When the rules are not in place or there is failure of implementation in the same.
Unethical Practices: When, either the organization or employees get into unethical practices, then either of them is scared of the other for the fear of leakage of information, fear of being caught or at times either of them gets bound to work with each other without actually any willingness, etc.
Lack of motivation: When the employees are not motivated (that can happen due to innumerable reasons), then politics arises.
Weak / Non transparent HR Policies: Every decision that’s taken and implemented by the H.R. department is obviously judged by all the employees; the decisions ought to make sense if reasons are laid for the same, i.e. transparent systems and governance rule out the scope of blame games.
Responsibilities not fixed: When the work domain is not fixed or roles are not defined then conflicts arise.

The above reasons are not just a point of view; rather they are a consequence of some ardent observation of all types of companies i.e. big, small, professional and unprofessional.

Well, I intentionally didn’t mention one important category or cause above… Yes, the Bosses and the seniors are also responsible for the politics; it may be for the following reasons: Inability to motivate employees,Inability to delegate responsibility,Being biased or losing patience, etc.
I might as well not be able to complete this post for genuine reasons that this topic is longer than it seems.

To sum it up or conclude:
In a professional organization with ethical practices and transparent policies, if the employees are motivated and are kept motivated, office politics can certainly be minimized.

One great way to ensure the success of your New Year's resolution is to simply find a training partner with similar fitness goals.

I wonder if I just crossed the line or rather if I had to suggest some more, I could, and more specifically suggest because I have not been keeping up with my New Year resolutions ever since I have gathered sense of making them up.

Making them up is not the only initiative ;( pardon me for mocking at the above, though)
I believe the more common phenomenon is not making New Year resolutions but the fact that they are almost never followed.

Gearing up now, I will get in a little depth; the fact is that not only New Year resolutions, but at times we are unable to keep up with our day to day resolutions as well.

Ask these simple questions to yourself:

How many times have I thought I will give up some bad habit?
How many times have I thought, "now I will never let it happen"?
How many times I say to myself or someone else, "It’s O.K., I mean sometimes it’s just fine"? Etc. etc.

Now, The verity:

We some how tend to look over the fact that the bad habits that we have, only came into existence because we repeatedly did them till they became a part of our very nature, It is our nature, my dear friends; and resolutions are not sufficient to change our nature…

Whenever I see someone I know smoking, I say that “One shouldn’t be addicted to anything,”
On that note I recommend all and sundry not to make any resolutions but realize the fact that:

I sent my apologies for my absence, Now, I can see why you never got my note, the courier was diverted to my most recent visitor only...

First of all sorry for being absent from so many days, I promise, It won’t ever happen, until of course it will happen… Also, I saw a huge amount of increment on my page’s traffic even when I have not being writing anything so thanks to all and also my apologies for being not so frequent, which of course will not happen again.

I was researching further on introspection (as in my last post), online, I read a few articles; also, coincidentally I read an article in the Times of India where a lot of intellectuals and celebrities talked about introspection and how it helps them all. Well, pardon me of taking you all a bit off the track, I will not be writing about introspection in this article or any of the related issues I’ve taken up earlier.

One of the very few honored, intellectual visitors of my Blog asked me a very genuine question (I mean, of course, very few people visit my Blog, but then they are all gem of people available online ;) Anyways, the question was why I use quotes from other places when I do write my own stuff too…?

I want to ask you all a very rhetorical question; would you be more interested if I tell you how to become the richest man in the world or if BILL GATES taught you the same?

Trust me there is no self made man or person, every successful person has a lot of people who have, in some or the other way, backed them up or affected their mind set, in a positive and influential way. Introspection & Retrospection

But, intelligent introspection is something else; let’s take a small test: Think about just five specific habits that you hate in people…?

Now, imagine others doing those habits with/to you…

Hope you guys are taking this small test seriously, because I hate when people just read and don’t follow what I write ;) that’s one habit I hate…

I believe that if we commit a mistake that turns out to be a blunder one and causes some negative effect; we tie a knot of not committing or repeating that mistake in future… Now just do some retrospection, whether you’ve committed any such mistakes; if you’ve not I double the prize, but anyways, I’m sure every one commits some mistake or the other, but when we do commit a blunder, I feel we do lack somewhere because of which such situations get created, but through intelligent introspection it can be minimized. Short Story:

Waiting for his sister outside her college to pick her up, one of my friends was admiring a beautiful girl for a while; she was looking back at him that made him think she was also interested in knowing him; he was looking for the right moment to approach her. It was the first time such a thought had popped in his mildly feeble brains, thus, he started thinking strategically, like what to say to her and what could be the response, etc. He finally decided, “This is my moment”, it was like all of a sudden the place went dark while he was the only one in focus and as he narrated, I could literally imagine him walking in slow motion towards the only and most beautiful girl present there… Amongst those adrenaline rushes, he saw our angel gradually bearing a smile on her face, along with that she started moving towards our protagonist, who was taken back by this unexpected positive gesture, just when a bike drove past him towards our heartthrob gal who hugged the boy (lightning strikes), sat besides him and disappeared.

Left alone in such a situation, he started yelling at his life, bad luck, the biker and also our momentary angel who was now being called names. He turned back slowly mumbling and making sure no one noticed the short lived activity, which actually I could have imagined no one did, if…

As our ‘Hero’ was struggling to come out of these turn of events by cursing everything, he observed two girls standing next to him; his sister and one of her friends were standing there and they had been an ardent observer of the spectacle, all the while. He was very embarrassed as his sister’s friend had always been on his liking list and had held the first position for the longest time, on and of that is. Well, this first ranker girl moved out of the scene giving all sorts of expressions that could make guilt seem guilty to feel guilty, but anyways, on the way back home his sister explained him (delivering on a higher note, of course) that they had seen everything and had heard him calling names at the girl, thus, the other girl had moved out, but then he thought, that showed that she had respected him earlier at least (after all, beggars can’t be choosers).

My friend narrated the complete incident and left feeling a little better after sharing the same. But, those made me sink in a deep thoughtful mode; I thought the whole incident was so analogous to the real life struggle, where we prepare ourselves for achieving certain goals, at times we create opportunities by our hard work, other times opportunity knocks at our door, while at times we seem to not even imagine what all opportunities we have missed….

Think (Kindly involve yourself in the above analogy):

Just replace the two girls i.e. the momentary angel and first ranker girl, to two opportunities, first being the seemingly short sighted opportunity (for which we work so hard but seem to give up in the end, at times, because of the unexpected results) and second, the opportunity that knocks at our doors (which we seem to ignore or rather not realize of its existence even, at times), respectively.

Ask these questions to yourself:

Is it not true that, at times, we give up if we do not get what we had exactly expected? Is this approach actually right?

Ever Since our childhood we have been told to be disciplined, to get along with others well, to do this, to be that, to work hard…. Wait a minute; were all of us asked to work hard????

Well here’s the catch, we were never supposed to work hard (surprised….!!!!) because we are all born with the same potential, the same brains; ever thought, what makes us different from others?, the upbringing??? AND that is,

if we are nurtured to believe in our own potentials,
if we are made to enjoy what we do rather than be forced to do what we do,
if we learn through practical experiences followed by stories but not just through stories (theory part),

We are all equally potential.

Take a test (Just try for once, it’ll hardly take 10 seconds…)

Use the above three points to compare your nurturing, your schooling and even when you’re working in office, you’ll understand that you might not have lagged in the race of life, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY you’ll believe that it’s never too late, because it’s not what you do or learn that matters but how you do or learn that matters…
